Monday - Choose cookign groups. make oreos
Tuesday - BLT sandwiches, Tex Mex salad / Tools assignment and study for foodsafe exam
Wednesday - Bite Size Brownies
Thursday - rueben Sandwiches, ceasar salad / tools assignment and study for foodsafe exam
Friday with luck we will take our foodsafe exam

Where did the time go?

It's February already and there is so much to do.

Anticipate NOT cooking until after the break. I want to get you all food safe certified before we get dirty in the kitchen.

Report card time is speeding towards us! Any assignments not recieved by Friday at 3:15pm will not be included in your mid term reports.
I will be away at a conference Wednesday - Friday. Please show our guest teacher hospitality.

Wednesday and Thursday the cooking group will be making 3 types of pie and two kidns of pastry. I will be curious to see what the results of this test kitchen are.

Friday will be devoted tot the wonderful world of Sandwiches.

One week closer to midterms. I have had interviews with most of you regarding outstanding assignments and what you hope to get out of the rest of this term. I hope to be more faithful in planning, and more productive with our sessions in the coming weeks.

We will not be serving anything as this group will be assisting with the luncheon for the Candlelight Ceremony.

Friday September 30
You will be working on a research project on Canadian Chefs in the PAA lab.

I will be away September 29 -30 and we will have Ms. Haberstock as the guest teacher in our class. Please treat her with respect and consideration.

I have started marking assignments and posting them on Maplewood. Those of you with concerns should see me to make arrangments for late/missing assignments.

Every week I learn somthing new! This week I learned that SHHS loves french fries!

Each cooking day has been improving and your cooperation and understanding has been appreicated.

Tuesday's Menu - Burgers, Fries, Cookie Sandwiches and Pasta Salad was a success.

Thursday's Menu - Taco Salad, Aero Bars, and Bread Wedges should be fun too.

Friday will be a work day and observation of storage practices on fruits and vegetables.

Keep up the good work and I am open to all suggestions!

Hooray for the short week!
This week I want to address more terminology and kitchen basics. I hope to also address food safety.
We will have a quiz on the material on Thursday with an opportunity to rewrite on Friday. Those of you who do not pass the quiz and rewrite will not be able to continue in the class.
We will be selecting our lab groups before the end of this week and determining our menu for next week.

Wow, I am so pleased to become part of the SHHS family! I am looking forward to getting to know each of you, SHHS and Yorkton. Each day we are together, I am sure you will teach me something new about teaching and learning, and about Commercial Cooking. I am anxious to get started and hope to build on all the learning you have done with Mrs. Printz.
